Cancelling and Refunds

How to cancel

Open your account settings and choose to cancel your membership. It takes effect immediately and nothing further is charged. If you cannot find it or it will not work, write to sifu@cloudforesttemple.com and we will cancel it for you. We will not put you through a retention conversation.

What happens when you cancel

• You keep access to the books until the end of the month you have already paid for. We do not cut you off the moment you cancel.
• After that, the books are no longer readable until you rejoin.
• Your own writing is not deleted. Your Common Book stays in your account and you can still read and export it.
• You can rejoin at any time.

Refunds

Because membership renews monthly and you can cancel before each renewal, we do not normally refund a month that has already started.

We will refund you, without argument, if:

• You were charged after cancelling, or charged twice, or charged by mistake.
• You joined within the last 14 days and have barely used it. Ask and we will refund the month.
• Something on our side was broken badly enough that you could not reasonably use what you paid for.

If you think you have a fair case that is not on that list, write to us and say so. We would rather give somebody their money back than have them feel cheated.

Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Stripe. They usually appear within five to ten working days depending on your bank.

If a payment fails

Stripe will retry a failed payment a few times over a couple of weeks. We will email you. If it still cannot be collected, the membership pauses rather than being deleted, and your writing stays where it is.

If we change the price

We will email you before any price change takes effect, in time for you to cancel if you would rather not pay it. A price change never applies to a month you have already paid for.

Chargebacks

If you do not recognise a charge, please write to us first. The charge appears as GODSREBIRTH BOOKS. We can almost always sort it out faster than a bank dispute can, and we would rather refund you directly.

Books bought outright

Paperbacks and e-books bought from the Cloud Forest Publishing store are separate from membership and have their own returns policy at checkout there. Membership is a subscription to read online, not a purchase of a copy.
